FAQ

What limitations should I know?

Environment: in-place rename needs Chromium File System Access; otherwise a ZIP is exported.

When might it fail?

Root folder: the browser cannot rename the selected root on disk; rename a subfolder in the tree, or rename the root in Finder/Explorer and re-select.

What else should I watch for?

Naming: \ / : * ? " < > | are blocked; stems cannot end with a period; collisions are rejected.

Any other important notes?

Privacy: files are read and renamed locally only; nothing is uploaded.
