Image Gallery Preview: lay out a folder by filename

Features

  • Entry is multi-select or a folder only.
  • Natural filename order (1, 2, 10). Images inside each folder are ordered by name; subfolders by folder name.
  • Levels is the default: siblings stack vertically, and each child folder sits to the right of its parent. Column, row, and grid are also available.
  • A gray filename sits above each image. The more button on that row can rename or delete. Rename re-sorts the canvas. Delete asks again. Neither writes back to disk.

Use cases

  • Skim a folder of about 200 photos.

FAQ

What limitations should I know?

JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF. HEIC depends on the browser.

When might it fail?

Each file up to 40MB, about 500 images at a time.

What else should I watch for?

Only images near the viewport are decoded.

Any other important notes?

Levels needs relative folder paths, or colon-separated names shown with /. Plain multi-select behaves like column.
